Calendar, prepared by W. J. Hardy, of letters and papers belonging for the most part to the latter half of the 17th and to the 18th centuries. The majority of the documents came to Gorhambury through the Grimstons, to whom the estate passed after the death of Sir Francis Bacon. cf. p. [iii]-v
